The fact that hematomas form significantly less frequently during filler treatment with the STERiGLIDE cannula than with other cannulas is primarily due to its dome-shaped design. Treatment with such a blunt needle requires a great deal of expertise and patience, as it takes more time than treatment with a pointed needle. When using an atraumatic (rounded) needle, an access or "tunnel" is prepared first, through which the needle can be inserted effortlessly afterwards - the needle literally glides through the skin. It is therefore worth taking this extra time, especially for sensitive areas of the face. The skin offers significantly less resistance when it comes into contact with the cannula, which in turn makes it easier to insert the cannula and more comfortable to inject the hyaluronic acid, and again significantly reduces the already small risk of necrosis. This provides noticeably greater comfort for the patient and a significantly lower risk of hematoma. In addition, only one entry point is required to inject a larger area. This also guarantees greater patient comfort.
